Threepenny Opera Press Release
Northwest Opera’s seventh season opens with The Threepenny Opera, written by Bertolt Brecht and music by Kurt Weill. Through the love story of Polly Peachum (daughter of the “King of the Beggars”) and “Mack the Knife” Macheath, the “biggest criminal in London,” this timely, sordid yet beautiful slice of London slum-life satirizes bourgeois society enhanced by plaintive, edgy, opera-meets-music hall melodies. Performances: November 10th, 11th at 7:30pm and 12th at 2pm at Spokane Children’s Theatre, 2727 N. Madelia, Spokane WA 99207. Tickets are $13.00 online here at Events and Tickets, at the door, or call 509-327-3598. Rated: PG-13.
